Quote for the Day:
Picture Prayer enlightens the mind: man cannot directly fix the eye of his soul upon God, who is the light, without being enlightened by him.
St. Robert Bellarmine

Mom with new prayer shawl
Went to see my mom today and took her this beautiful prayer shawl that a deacon friend made for her. She really loved it! She kept making sure it was just perfect around her and commented often how "pretty" it was. And another most amazing thing that I just realized as I am writing this - and that was that she started reciting a bible verse about things. Which my mom never, ever did before! At least that I can remember. So - the prayer part was obviously working to! In fact as I think about it - that's kind of a beautiful prayer miracle I think. Very comforting. Obviously some prayers went into this beautiful shawl while it was being made!

Was sort of a longish, gray day. Still being affected by post election blues. Part of it was helped greatly by a long afternoon nap which I badly needed and part has been helped by reading this wonderful book on Pope John XXIII by Patricia Treece.

Last week I interviewed Patricia Treece for my radio program. Was very fun. I will share the program with you when I upload it to the server. One more thing to add to my "to do" list.

Oh... and I've not got an RSS feed for JoyNotes if anyone would like to subscribe that way to the JoyNotes.

I've been trying and trying to figure out how to get an RSS feed to work... supposed to be simple - when you follow the step by step instructions.. except that at the end it doesn't work.. so the simple part I got down fine.. the working part not so hot. Anyway this evening I discovered that when I send the JoyNotes notes out via the mailing list on Aweber.. they provide a free RSS fee. YEAH!

Well and of course my Seattle PI blog has an RSS feed too... forgot about that one. Amazing how once you figure out something you run into it everywhere.

Now my next challenge.. which I have been working on for weeks but not getting is how to upload my audio onto Itunes. Its another one of those simple things. Simple if you know how to do it.. impossible if you don't. I know its one stupid thing I'm probably not doing right.. but... yikes! I started praying for an angel today to come and help me through this. Cause we are just not getting it on our own.

Blessings of Peace and All Good,

More things
are wrought by Prayer
than this world dreams of—

ALFRED LORD TENNYSON

Angel Chariot

Assonet, Massachusett

Picture It was two o'clock in the morning on October 8, 1984, when I was awakened by my husband Archie telling me he couldn't feel his legs. He had been suffering for over a week with terrible back pains, and we had visited three different emergency rooms. Each one sent him home with Valium and instructions to rest. They said he had just sprained his back.

That morning he tried to get out of bed and to the bathroom and landed face first on the floor. I immediately called 911. Our children were all home, so I was unable to accompany him to the hospital. I felt so helpless.

The next morning after the kids went to school I immediately drove to the hospital. The doctors couldn't tell me what was wrong; they only said that it didn't look good. He seemed to be paralyzed from the waist down and many complications could arise. He was only forty-five years old, but because he was a heavy man it was hard for them to pinpoint what was causing the problem.
