Quote for the Day:
Nobody ever got anything from God on the grounds that
he deserved it. Haven fallen, man deserves only punishment
and death. So if God answers prayer it’s because God is good.
From His goodness,
His lovingkindness,
His good-natured benevolence,
God does it! That’s the source of everything.

 Franciscan Young Adult Group
The above picture was from Tuesday's meeting with the Young Adult Franciscan Group. We had such a fun, fun time. They will be meeting here pretty regularly on Tuesday nights to do radio and other fun things - So... if anyone between the ages of 18 - 26 is interested in being a part of this great spiritual group... you can visit their web site at 1franciscanyouth.com and call, write or email. They would love to have you try them out and see if its a good spiritual match!
Okay, the days are going way to fast. I have it on very good authority that this is happening on a world wide basis.. this is not my imagination. There is to much to do and too little time to do it.. AND you know if its happening in the Monastery than its just way out of control. Somebody, somewhere has got to put the brake on.
What? This just in .... Message from God..... What? It's me? I have to put the break on! Me!? Really? You're not going to do it? No... oh... okay... thanks God, Yes, I will see what I can do.
Alright - its come from the top. I have got to put the brake on. AND with this issue of JoyNotes you will see the beginning signs of a General slow down. Maybe not for the whole world.. but for my tiny speck of it.
I have been praying about the JoyNotes - and I have decided its time to cut it down to just two things. Basically my comments here and then a story from one of our books. I will include links to Danielle, Sr. Janet, Fr. Rory and Msgr Rosage.... but not include their writings with the JoyNotes anymore. All of these people except for Msgr. Rosage have their own mailing lists or blogs that I encourage you to subscribe to separately if you want them in your mail box. They would love to have you!
The final straw for deciding this is of course my mom. Her new home is 45 minutes away - the Sisters are letting me go to see her twice a week but this basically takes about 3 hours each time. The JoyNotes previously have taken from one hour to two and a half hours each day. I just can't do both... and so dear sweet Mom gets the time.. and JoyNotes takes the cut.
Thank you hugely for your understanding. I have no problem at all with anyone unsubscribing and joining those other lists... everyone has different needs that are met by different people... that is just how we are. So please do not hesitate to make the changes that will make it the best for you!

A Baby For You
Maryann Kolod
Bensalem, Pennsylvania
When I became a bride at age twenty-six, I wanted to become a mother
immediately. My husband and I prayed for a baby. Over a year went by,
and still I was not pregnant. After several approved medical tests, it was
determined that I could not have a baby. We then applied for adoption.
More time passed, and we heard nothing from the adoption people. We
wanted a child very much. Then we went to the Blessed Mother. We
just knew, if it were God's will, that she would find us a baby to love.
At the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Germantown,
Pennsylvania, we made a nine-week novena. Faithfully, we went to the
shrine each week and prayed for a baby. Four months later, on the exact
date that we started the novena, we heard those beautiful words, "There
is a baby for you."
We were thrilled. God gave us a baby boy. This happened forty-one
years ago. I am a widow now. I am so grateful to the Lord for giving me
a wonderful husband, a good marriage, and a lovely son.
