Novena in Preparation for the Feast of the Stigmata of Saint FrancisTwo years before his death, Saint Francis received the stigmata (the wounds of Christ) in his hands, feet and side. So earnestly had Francis striven to imitate Christ that this great gift was given to him as a testimony of his faithfulness. This novena of the Five Sundays before the Feast of the Stigmata of Saint Francis on September 17th, is a devotional prayer prayed by many Franciscans throughout the world. As we join in this novena we immerse ourselves in the love of Jesus Crucified and pray that we might find healing, strength and renewal for ourselves and loved ones.
